Thank You National Disability Summit!
Earlier this week I had the pleasure of attending the National Disability Summit in Melbourne.
On Monday I had the amazing opportunity of participating on a panel focusing on building community inclusion through truly inclusive practices and innovations. It was a privilege to be able to speak on my own lived experience as an LGBTQIA+ Autistic and also learn from my fellow panelists Aunty June Riemer from First Peoples Disability Network, Kim Samuel from Western Parkland City and Greater Cities Commission and Irena Reiss who is a Lawyer and Disability Advocate. I would also like to Thank Adam Johnson for moderating the panel and offering his own insight on the topic.
On Tuesday I attended as a delegate and was amazed with the quality of the presentations both from individuals with a disability and those who work in the industry. We also heard from Jordon Steele-John and Bill Shorten, however I think the most memorable part of the summit was being able to reconnect with the disability industry and meet some amazing individuals who I look forward to hopefully work with soon. Be sure to keep an eye on our socials for updates on this.
I would like thank Informa Australia for having me and for organising such an amazing event.
I really look forward to hopefully being able to attend again next year.
