Bryce Pace - Autism Advocate Turns 6 Today!

Today I am very proud to say Bryce Pace – Autism Advocate turns 6. Today marks 6 years since I began my advocacy journey. 6 years since I wrote a facebook post that began a new and exciting chapter in my life.

6 years ago while still a high school student I came home frustrated and disappointed at how my peers where using autism as a way to insult others, so I decided to do what any 21st century teenager does. I logged onto Facebook and vented my mind and frustrations into a Facebook post; little did I know where this post was going to lead.

Since that night 6 years ago a lot has happened. I started up a business, I have facilitated workshops all over Victoria in addition to some interstate and even online. I have also had the privilege to be featured in many training and information videos, newspaper articles, radio shows and magazines in addition to participating on panels and I have even been a keynote speaker at conferences. Very exciting opportunities have also presented in the way of accessibility audits at various venues including the MCG, The Australian Open and Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney; however the best part of the work I have done over the past 6 years is the amazing people I have had the opportunity to meet and spend time with along the way. Those people who have helped make Bryce Pace – Autism Advocate what it is today.

On this day I would like to thank everyone who has assisted in the growth of Bryce Pace – Autism Advocate. I would like to thank the YDAS - Youth Disability Advocacy Service, Get Skilled Access, Kaiko Fidgets and Amaze to just name a few. I would also like to thank everyone who has supported us by attending our workshops and by following us on social media, if it wasn’t for you we would not be here today.

I would also like to take this opportunity thank my mother, Angela for always supporting me from the very beginning. From the early days with the long drives to Melbourne, early mornings dropping me off at the train station to editing a lot of the posts you see here and on our website and also being up for an adventure and open to my innovative and somewhat quirky ideas. You are an important asset to this business and I have no idea were we would be without you.

Looking back over the past 6 years I am very proud of what we have been able to achieve and how far we have come. It is amazing to think that just 6 years ago I was still a high school student who was hiding a massive secret from the world and now I have the pleasure to work alongside Paralympians and other influential people that I would never have imagined to have even met 6 years ago. Bryce Pace – Autism Advocate may still be very young however, I am proud to know that we have already left a positive mark on this world and I look forward to sharing with you all for many years to come our continued journey towards our mission of creating a world that accepts, includes and embraces the autism spectrum.

Thank You

Bryce Pace
