The Aspie Hour Is Back!

Looking for something to do to celebrate autism acceptance month? why not go see a performance of the Aspie Hour at the Melbourne Comedy Festival. The Aspie Hour is an informative and delightfully irreverent cabaret from talented cabaret team, Sophie Smyth and Ryan Smedley. They explore their experiences with Asperger’s Syndrome and navigate the neurotypical world through the prism of their identical love: musical theatre. Ryan shares moments from his solo journey to New York City and the magnitude of travelling somewhere new on your own. Sophie explores her spectacular range of psychological issues by framing her life as a musical whilst under the guise of Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz. Together they flail through misread social cues and flaunt their ability to recall obscure musical theatre facts. Honest and unapologetic, they debunk misconceptions about Asperger’s and re-define what it is to be an 'Aspie' today. I went to see this late last year and would definitely recommend going to see it if you haven't already but get your tickets quick as they have sold out pretty quickly in the past. for more information and tickets head to: https://www.comedyfestival.com.au/2019/shows/the-aspie-hour
